Project Nieuwe Sluis Terneuzen
Today marks a historic moment: the opening of the Nieuwe Sluis in Terneuzen!
Topclad is proud to have made a significant contribution to this monumental project, executed for the Sassevaart consortium and Rijkswaterstaat (RWS).
Today, King Willem-Alexander (NL) and King Philippe (Belgium) officially open this lock. We are honored to have played a role in this groundbreaking project that strengthens the connection between the North Sea and the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal.
14 Hydraulic cylinders of large dimensions
A total of 14 rods were delivered for the bridge sections and lock gates, with dimensions of Ø200 x 6433/6935 mm and Ø520 x 7959/10105 mm. With these impressive dimensions, we set ourselves apart in the ability to laser-clad such large-scale components. We provided the cylinder rods in the lock gates and bridge sections with our advanced Quarite NR+ laser-clad layer.
